Welcome to Heaven Can Wait - the home of our charity ride from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Nottingham City Hospital.
On 26th July 2008 our team of riders aim to complete this end-to-end journey of Great Britain within 24 hours and in the process set a new record with the Iron Butt Association as the largest group of bikers to start and finish together.
The ride is the idea of Kevin Gent, an ambulance technician from Derbyshire who works for the East Midlands Ambulance Service based at the King’s Mill station, Nottinghamshire.
In 2005, Kevin was diagnosed with Thymic cancer and soon discovered that the disease was to have a major impact on his life and his family. Kevin lost his right lung and endured months of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy but is now on the road to recovery - and it's time to fight back!
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP
Every penny we raise will help to fight this menace and will take cancer research teams one step closer to finding a cure.
Every penny we raise will also help to support the wonderful work of the Oncology Department at Nottingham City Hospital and the front line staff who treat cancer patients every day.
You can help us to achieve so much with even the smallest of donations so please click on our donation button NOW.
We have several options for you to safely and securely donate, including direct online payments with DEBIT and CREDIT cards at JustGiving, online with PayPal including the option to pay via Direct Debit, via online banking directly to our charitable bank account at Lloyds TSB and finally with payments by CHEQUE or POSTAL ORDERS sent directly to us by post.
Gift Aid is a valuable added benefit for charities and it won’t cost you a penny more! In short, if you are a UK tax payer, by clicking YES to gift aid you can automatically allow us to reclaim the tax on your donation directly from the Government...
That's right – CLICK YES to gift aid and you can stick 2 fingers up to the Inland Revenue!
DO IT NOW and spend the rest of the day smiling like a Cheshire cat.
Your donation will then be worth about 28% more than the basic amount you give.
It won’t affect you, it won’t affect your tax code and it won’t affect your end of year tax returns.
So dig in as deep as you can and help us to help these truly worthwhile causes.
Do it first before you get dazzled by the rest of our site!
