Our team of riders and support vehicles will travel from Land's End to John O'Groats and will be together for the entire ride, stopping only for fuel, bites to eat and the occasional rest stop to ensure all of our riders can complete the trip safely.
A brief summary
We have the full support of the East Midlands Ambulance Service, Kevin's employer, and motorcyclists from the Police (Traffic Divisions) of South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, who we hope will accompany the group on the ride. Paramedics will follow closely behind too, hopeful that they will be needed for moral support only!
The route is shown on the map and each stage detailed a little more closely in the table shown. The estimated journey time, with all pre-planned stops, is approx 20hrs. Departure is set for 3am with arrival envisaged at 10pm. Should we experience severe delays at any stage, we will recalculate our stops and decide upon an changes that might be necessary but we have already built in a buffer of 4 hours.
This is not a race; we will not be embarking on a dash for a finishing line, simply a well paced and safe ride by experienced motorcyclists. We want to create headlines for all the right reasons, not to create negative publicity. We are doing this to raise money for charity and you can help us by donating - large or small - it will all help.
The Route
The ride will be split into 7 sections from Land's End and will follow the route marked in blue on the map to the left.
If you are looking at this and can see a possibility of incorporating some kind of fund raising along the route - perhaps because we will pass by your business, home or another point of interest, please contact us and discuss your ideas. Despite reports to the contrary, we are actually human*
* Disclaimer: some participants might actually be as much as 47% Mega breakfast SUB.
